You’re a skilled and creative Design Engineer who can design, develop, and test new and existing products that meet the needs and specifications of our customers. Job Specification: Design Engineer

Position Overview: The role of Design Engineer is dynamic and integral to our organisation. As we adhere to our lean business principles, the duties and responsibilities outlined below may evolve to align with changing customer needs. This position offers ample opportunities for career advancement and the chance to catalyse positive change during a phase of rapid expansion.

This role demands adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality design standards while evolving with the ever-changing business landscape. Your contributions as a Design Engineer will play a vital role in our company’s growth and success.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate effectively within the technical team to achieve collective goals.
2. Collaborate with customers and the sales team to define specifications for innovative product designs.
3. Generate practical and time-sensitive design solutions, with a focus on manufacturability, to meet predefined targets and objectives.
4. Identify and report any design process non-conformities.
5. Strategically plan and execute prototyping for concept solutions using available resources.
6. Create detailed drawings for general assembly, bill of materials, and fabrication, adhering meticulously to ALLpaQ procedures with precision and attention to detail.
7. Adapt and customise existing drawings to meet specific customer requirements.
8. Ensure compliance with ISO9001-2015 QMS standards in all design work.
9. Lead and actively participate in design review meetings to encourage feedback and critical examination of designs.
10. Attend weekly production meetings when necessary to communicate project statuses within the production schedule.
11. Mentor and provide support to technical operators to enhance their skill sets.
12. Program parts and assemblies for machining on CNC routers, considering assembly tolerances and machine capabilities.
13. Strive for continuous improvement in organisational processes and methodologies, fostering a culture of ongoing enhancement within the team.
14. Adhere to company procedures for Health and Safety, as outlined in the Handbook.
15. Collaborate with the team to plan CNC work schedules, optimising machine utilisation.
16. Manage a cloud-based repository of controlled and client-issue drawings, maintaining accurate version records.
